Out of the Blue

“Out of the Blue” is a unique art exhibition that features work created by students in Professor Zimmer’s Digital Photography class and Dr. Yukevich’s Technical Communication class. Each piece is printed with a dark blue background, and it portrays distinctive images in white that blend into a light blue finish. They are printed on rectangular paper and accompanied by a poetic quote from the student in the technical communications class. These pieces engross the viewer at first glance, due to the art’s captivating style, which resembles a cyanotype, a 9^th century photographic process. Although they all have the same background color, each student created their pieces in such a way that makes them individually unique; every image depicts either a specific, abstract, or imaginative perspective, which captures the very essence of the individuality they possess. As an artist myself, I can say that this form of artistry harnesses the awe inspired from admirable artwork. This unique collaboration has resulted in a spontaneous exhibition displayed throughout Taylor Hall. The student’s artwork was exhibited from September 27^th to October 4^th.
