Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program
ACOTE
The entry-level occupational therapy doctoral degree program has applied for accreditation
and has been granted Candidacy Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational
Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA),
located at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E, Bethesda, MD 20814.

The program must have a pre-accreditation review, complete an on-site evaluation, and be granted Accreditation Status before its graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, all states require licensure to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. Note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure. Following the completion of the didactic portion of the program, students must complete 24 weeks of Level II fieldwork as well as an individual 14-week capstone experience, including the completion of preparatory activities defined in the 2023 ACOTE Standards D.1.3-D.1.5.
Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program
At its 2025M meeting, the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) granted the Trine University Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program sponsored by Trine University on Accreditation-Continued.
Accreditation-Continued is a status that remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The next comprehensive evaluation is in 2033.
