Housing Requirements and Application Process
Trine students are required to live on campus. First-time residents are required to pay a One-Time Housing Fee of $150. Students who meet one of the following criteria may submit a request to the housing and residential life department for the residency requirement to be waived, but are not guaranteed approval: they are married, have a dependent child, live with a parent or legal guardian within 50 miles of Angola, or will be 22 years of age on or by August 1, 2026 (Students previously enrolled in the 2024-2025 school year or earlier will need to be 21 years of age on or before the annual August 1 deadline).
Students with a cumulative GPA of a 2.0 or higher who have completed 60 credit hours and lived on campus for four semesters, may be approved to move into a University recognized Sorority / Fraternity House or Christian Campus House.
The Residential Room and Board Contract is a binding agreement for the entire academic year. Students residing in campus housing must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours). This contract cannot be terminated at the end of the fall semester, except in cases of graduation from Trine University. Any student who cancels or breaks their housing contract on or after August 1, 2025, will be responsible for the full room and board charges for the entire contract term.
All students must have the written approval from the Housing Department prior to moving off campus. If a student fails to receive a proper contract release or provides false information, then the student may be subject to room and board charges for the entire contract term and additional actions up to and including dismissal from Trine University.
You can fill out the request to move-off campus form by clicking here.
To cancel a room selection, a written request must be submitted to the Housing Department by May 1 for the following fall semester. Failure to give written notification by May 1 will result in forfeiture of any enrollment or housing fees paid to the University.
Housing and Enrollment Fee Application Process for new students:
- Submit a $350 enrollment fee which includes $150 for the One-Time Housing Fee.
- The Housing Department will contact you via email providing instructions to begin the housing process after the One-Time Housing Fee has been received.
The $350 enrollment fee and One-Time Housing Fee are non-refundable after May 1. Both must be paid in full before a student can participate in the housing selection process.
