  • Using Programming to Solve Problems: Become familiar with the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer programming. Learn to translate a real problem into a program description and write and test a program to implement that description. Develop a professional style using correct syntax while learning modular design, definitions of data types, sequencing, selection, repetition control structures, arrays, classes and simple file input/output.
  • Information Security: Understand the principles of information security. Explore concepts and theory of security policies, access control methods, site security, information security, system security, user security and application security. Manage security functions through cryptographic services, protocols, authentication, authorization and access control technologies.
  • Certified Ethical Hacking: Receive an introduction to ethical hacking using methodologies and frameworks from the field. Review the basics of information security including international and national laws. Explore concepts of reconnaissance, footprinting, enumeration of information systems and vulnerability analysis.

While at Trine, you will learn from experienced faculty who are actively engaged in research and industry partnerships.

Cybersecurity faculty also prepare students for several industry-relevant certifications upon graduation: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and CompTIA Security+.
