Rex is a senior tutor in the Writing Center with a major in crimminal justice. Continue below to read why he chooses to be a tutor and how it helps him with his writing.
Being a Criminal Justice major who has aspirations to attend law school after I graduate from Trine University, I believe that having good reading and writing skills are vital for success in my field. That is why I became a tutor at the Writing Center and recommend the Writing Center for anyone looking to strengthen their writing skills.
It is a common misconception that being a good writer is only needed if your field is English or education. Regardless of what career you plan on pursuing, being able to formulate concise and professional essays or reports are needed to be an effective communicator. Even throughout my time of pursuing my Master's Degree, I have found how important it is to be a strong writer, due to how writing-intensive graduate school is.
Anyone who is going into a field that requires reports, or anyone who plans on attending further education after Trine University, would benefit greatly from utilizing the Writing Center's resources.
