Kayla Warren named Influential Woman of Northeast Indiana

Kayla WarrenKayla Warren, senior vice president and chief finance officer for Trine University, has been named to the 2025 class of Influential Women of Northeast Indiana.

Sponsored by Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly, The Journal Gazette and KPC Media, Influential Women of Northeast Indiana recognizes extraordinary women who have overcome barriers, defied social norms and blazed trails for future generations.

In her role, Warren manages financial planning, budgeting and reports, accounting and business operations, and audits for an annual budget of $110 million at Trine. In addition, she oversees housing and residence life, events and conferences, information technology, campus operations, the Thunder Ice Arena and Zollner Golf Course.

“Kayla’s passion for her alma mater is demonstrated in her outstanding leadership over our finances, campus operations, residence life and information technology,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University president. “She oversees consistently balanced budgets that allow us to keep a Trine University education affordable for our students while providing quality faculty and facilities. Her leadership ensures our buildings and grounds are second to none. We are truly blessed by her service to this institution.”

Warren earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in accounting from Trine in 2006 and has been a certified public accountant since 2010. She will complete her MBA at Trine this December.

She joined the university as controller in 2016 and became assistant vice president of finance in 2020 and vice president of finance in 2021. She earned Trine’s Outstanding Young Alumnus/a Award in 2023.

She serves on the Audit Committee for the Independent Colleges of Indiana, the board of the Steuben County Community Foundation and the Board of Directors of Farmers State Bank and FS Bancorp. She also coaches Angola youth girls basketball teams.
