Trine University’s Class of 2024 saw 99.1% of its members obtain their desired career outcome within six months of graduation, continuing a 12-year streak of employment and graduate school placement averaging greater than 99%.
“Our ongoing run of near-perfect employment speaks to the value a Trine University education provides to our students and their families, as well as to value we provide to the many local businesses who are so eager to hire our graduates,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine University president.
“We’re proud to continue to provide businesses, schools and organizations with graduates who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to make an immediate impact on the job, thanks to our career-focused curriculum and personal attention from expert faculty.”
Trine’s Class of 2024 saw more than 63% of its graduates employed in Indiana, with more than 90% staying in the Midwest.
“Having a workforce with the skillset to manage and even create the technology that will power industry in the future is vital to our state and the Midwest region, and Trine University provides a steady stream of workers who have the expertise to do just that,” said Jason Blume, assistant vice president for Innovation One.
In addition to the overall figures, Trine’s Franks School of Education reported that 100% of its graduates seeking teaching positions have now been employed for 13 straight years.
Almost 97% of Trine’s Class of 2024 reported employment in their field of study.
Higher than national averages
Trine’s employment rate for its graduates remains nearly 15% higher than the most recent national figures. National figures for the Class of 2023, the most recent year available, showed 84.7% of college graduates employed with six months of completing their degree.
Events hosted by Trine University’s Career Center, which play a significant role in connecting students with employers, continue to grow.
The university set a record at its fall 2024 Tailgate for Talent Career Fair, with 145 employers participating, the most at a single fall career fair. More than 600 students attended the event.
Trine’s spring career fair will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, in the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic and Recreation Center. Business interested in participating can find out more information or register at trine.link/career-fair.
Whodunit? It’s a question board game players have asked for decades, and Trine Theatre patrons will have the opportunity to make their own deductions when “Clue” takes the Ryan Concert Hall stage of the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.
Steuben County community members are invited to join Trine University students and alumni and local businesses for Breaking the Silence Together, the university's inaugural mental health walk, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.
