Megan TolinReaders of Fort Wayne Newspapers have voted Trine University the Best College in the Greater Fort Wayne region for the fourth straight year.

In addition, Megan Tolin, DET, dean of Trine University’s Franks School of Education, was recognized as the region’s Best Professor.

The honors were announced in Saturday's (Sept. 28) Journal Gazette as part of the newspaper’s annual Readers’ Choice awards.

“We’re honored but not surprised to be recognized for the fourth straight year as the leader among the many outstanding institutions of higher learning throughout northeast Indiana,” said Trine University President Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D. “Our outstanding job placement, career-focused academic programs, state-of-the-art facilities, committed faculty and vibrant campus life continue to attract attention as we prepare students to succeed, lead and serve in the workplace, the communities where they settle, and beyond.”

Tony Kline, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs, said Dr. Tolin is representative of the excellence and personal attention that all Trine faculty bring to the classroom.

“Dr. Tolin is the epitome of an educator and leader. She is focused on creating environments where students learn in authentic, innovative, effective ways to better themselves in their content and as people,” Kline said. “We congratulate her, and I know she is honored to represent all our Trine faculty who do such excellent work each and every day.”

The honor continues a string of recognitions for Trine University this fall. The university was recently included among US News & World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges and Princeton Review’s Best in the Midwest.

Trine continues to grow in enrollment, serving nearly 15,000 students this fall throughout its campuses, education centers and online.

The university also continues to expand its facilities, opening the new Dr. Earl D. and Melanie N. Brooks College of Health Professions in Fort Wayne and the Mark and Sarah Music/Ruoff Mortgage Esports Arena in Angola this fall.
