Trine University Wind Ensemble

Trine’s Wind Ensemble meets spring semester and performs high-quality wind band literature for concerts. It is comprised of wind and percussion musicians. The Wind Ensemble performs the great concert works for wind band, movie soundtrack arrangements, orchestral transcriptions, and Broadway music as well as other forms of fine music. Free Concert! Join us in an unique art gallery stroll organized by the Trine University Art Club. Indulge in light refreshments as you explore artworks created by students of Trine University and local artists. This event is FREE. Donations are welcome.
The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood

It sure is hard to be humble when you're a swashbuckling, egocentric super-hero. But our gallant guy-in-green tries his best as he swaggers through The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, a frantically funny, Monty Pythonesque retelling of the classic. This time around, the legendary legend, in his never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounters a lovely damsel-in-distress (oddly obsessed with skin conditions); an ever-scheming sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bull's-eye; a gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe; and a good-natured "Town's Guy" who manages to make his way into every scene, whether he belongs there or not. Combine them with an expandable band of spoon-wielding Merry Men whose collective IQs equal six, and you've got an irreverent jaunt through Sherwood Forest you won't soon forget!

Trine University Choir Concert

The University Choir is open to all university students regardless of prior experience. The choir performs a variety of music in different forms, styles, genres, and languages. The members of the University Choir learn important vocal techniques and are introduced to different cultures through experiencing a broad spectrum of literature. Free Concert! Taylor Hicks

For Taylor Hicks, winning "American Idol's" blockbuster fifth season was just the beginning. Hailed as “part Stax, part Motown and part honky-tonk” by The New York Times, Hicks’ intoxicating blend of soul, blues, country, and rock 'n' roll quickly rendered him a household name as he progressed to the show’s record-breaking finale in 2006, a historic television event which drew an audience of more than 200 million viewers. Hicks immediately followed his "American Idol" victory with a No. 1 Billboard single and an RIAA®-certified platinum debut, and soon went on to make history as both the first male "American Idol" champion featured on a GRAMMY-winning record (Jimmy Fallon’s Blow Your Pants Off), and the first to land a prestigious Las Vegas residency. A versatile artist, actor and advocate, Hicks has since ventured into theater, television and film, starring in Serenbe Playhouse's 2019 production of "Shenandoah," touring as Teen Angel in the popular Broadway musical “Grease” in addition to appearing on “Law & Order: SVU” and hosting the INSP series “State Plate,” which won the Cynopsis TV Award for Best Reality Series (Travel). Hicks’ passion for southern cuisine led him back to his native Alabama, where he opened up SAW's Juke Joint, a restaurant crowned one of the “25 Best Barbecue Spots in America” by Men’s Journal.

Angola Performing Arts Academy presents Picnic with Patricia Polacco

Music Americana

The 2025 Music Americana will be the 48th performance of this program. It was stated by the late Art Ryan and was to be the kickoff to the July 4 holiday in Angola. Music Americana features local talent and is free and open to the public.
