Giving back to the community

At Trine University, we care about service to our community. Each year, our athletic teams, organizations, and clubs take time out of their busy academic schedules to give back. Students help out at local, non-profit organizations, participate in our Serve 60 campaign, and fundraise on-campus for great causes. These include:

  • Big Man on Campus (BMOC) – Sponsored by Theta Phi Alpha to support the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Research Foundation
  • PB&J-A-THON – Donated 600+ sandwiches to local elementary students at Timothy L. Johnson Academy in partnership with Education One
  • U Can Crush Hunger – Raised 30,000 + pounds of food to battle food insecurity in Northeast Indiana
  • Miss Trine – Coordinated by Kappa Sigma Alpha to support the Make A Wish Foundation
  • Trine Talent – Hosted by Alpha Sigma Tau to support Women in Transition, a local women’s shelter in Steuben County
  • Notes of Encouragement – 2,000 + handwritten notes are delivered to local elementary students ahead of state testing in partnership with Education One
  • Christmas Tree Decorating – Trees are donated to families in need in partnership with the Office of the President
  • Picking up Trash at Pokagon State Park in Steuben County
