Indiana Tax Credit
Support student success and earn a tax credit
Your gifts to Trine University could lead to a tax credit. Indiana offers a special tax credit for Hoosier taxpayers who support accredited colleges and universities in the state.
As an Indiana-recognized accredited university, gifts to Trine could be eligible for a tax credit. The credit can be equal to 50% of a contribution, $200 for couples or $100 for singles, whichever is less. Please note that the payment of tuition, fees or room and board are not considered charitable contributions and do not qualify for the tax credit.
To claim your savings, you must file an Indiana CC-40 after making your gift to Trine. You will then attach this form to your state income tax return for the tax year in which you made the gift. The CC-40 form is available on the State of Indiana's website. Please consult a tax professional regarding your individual circumstances.
