Kathryn Laurion wanted to advance in human resources while keeping the flexibility
to pursue other career paths.
The online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in management
program at Trine University provided that opportunity as well as connections with
faculty and peers.
“What I enjoyed most about the program was the supportive and approachable professors,
who made the learning experience engaging and enjoyable,” she said. “I also really
valued the opportunity to collaborate with other students on projects, even in an
online setting! This has allowed me to learn from different perspectives and build
a sense of connection with my peers.”
Balance
Kathryn, who was the College of Graduation and Professional Studies (CGPS) Excellence
in Business Administration Award winner for the Class of 2026, was searching for a
fully online program that would allow her to effectively balance her education, full-time
work and personal responsibilities.
“Beyond that flexibility, Trine stood out during my research because of the consistent
positive feedback I found about the school and its professors,” she said.
She said the program taught her how to collaborate and connect with others despite
the distance between them, as well as better time management skills.
She is pursuing a master’s degree at Trine and plans to advance to a higher role at
her current employer. She said she probably wouldn’t have considered a master’s if
the bachelor’s program hadn’t gone so well.
“This program helped me balance school, work and my personal life easily. The teachers
at Trine University are respectable and kind,” she said.
