The Trine Sales and Marketing Association held its second annual KSB Collegiate Sales
Cup on Jan. 29, giving Trine University students from all majors the opportunity to
show off their sales skills.
Twelve students competed for cash prizes in a 15-minute role-playing exercise. Todd
Haidous, owner of the Angola Dairy Queen, role-played as the buyer.
Winners, in order of placement, were Michael Pacer, a marketing major from Maumee,
Ohio; Brock Barger, a marketing major from Westfield, Indiana; Matthew Rankin, a golf
management major from Grass Lake, Michigan; Josh Hartman, a sport management major
from Whitestown, Indiana; and Aidan Hochstetler, a marketing major from Goshen, Indiana.
Judges for the event were Nick Lenzo and Ryan Martin of Federated Insurance, Tyler
Benner of Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance and David Quinn of Vestil Manufacturing.
The Trine Sales and Marketing Association is a student-led club in the university’s
Ketner School of Business. It is designed to provide students who have an interest
in learning more about marketing and sales with opportunities to build and strengthen
their skills.
