WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Washington, D.C.-based magazine has ranked Trine University’s nontraditional offerings, better known as TrineOnline, among its Best Bang for the Buck Colleges for 2024.

Washington Monthly ranked Trine second among Midwestern colleges. The magazine said the rankings measure how well institutions help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.

“We pride ourselves on helping TrineOnline students take the next step by providing convenient, affordable online degree programs that help them advance in their careers,” said Keirsten Eberts, vice president of online and international studies at Trine. “We’re pleased that Washington Monthly recognizes our efforts and look forward to continuing to serve our TrineOnline students.”

Washington Monthly said it ranked colleges based on:

  • Graduation rate over eight years for all students
  • Predicted graduation rate based on the percentage of Pell recipients
  • Percentage of students receiving student loans
  • Admission rate
  • Racial/ethnic and gender makeup of the student body
  • Number of students (overall and full-time)
