Morgan Faull, Trine University class of 2020 graduate, has had an appreciation for
golf since she was 15. Since then, her skills and opportunities have only improved.
Morgan, a golf management major at Trine, worked hard to land a position at Sycamore
Hills Golf Club. Sycamore Hills Golf Club has distinguished itself beyond cultivating
a reputation for its design and quality, both locally and nationally. Golf Digest
ranked the club as a Top 200 course. Additionally, the golf shop has been a part of
Golf World Business’ Top 100 Golf Shops ten times.
Mogan oversees the retail operations of the course’s 1,600-square-foot shop. Her responsibilities
consist of, but aren’t limited to, corresponding with a variety of vendors and organization
representatives, buying plan generation and event planning.
She attributes the nurturing of her passion for golf to her involvement in the Trine
women’s golf team. Through her participation in athletic competition she found her
best friend, Lyndsey Welper. Her increased exposure to the team taught her a lot.
“It consistently reminded me how vast the golf world could be and it was a great reminder
that I was in the right spot,” she said. The unique experience that Trine University
offers molded her college experience. “I loved how Trine felt like a tight-knit community,
but also gave the ‘big college’ vibe,” she noted.
Shortly after meeting Cat Benson, dean of the Ketner School of Business, she made
the switch from her originally declared major of secondary science education to the
golf management program.
Since graduating, Morgan has set high standards for herself. She is a 2023 Association
of Golf Merchandisers Platinum Award winner, and recently learned her club has won
the 2024 award as well. As the first recipient of the prestigious award at Sycamore
Hills Golf Club, she has set herself and her team apart from other clubs.
“Putting together the initiatives with my colleagues was probably my favorite part
of building our entry. Followed by the satisfaction of a successful season,” she said.
Looking to the future, Morgan hopes to become a PGA professional. If the past is any
indication of the future, many other awards should be on the horizon.
