Summary
The Social Media & Outreach Coordinator will support the Allen School of Engineering and Computing’s communication goals by managing its social media presence and serving as the primary liaison between the School and Office of Admissions by coordinating outreach activities to engage perspective students and the broader community. This role requires a dynamic, high-energy personality with a passion for connecting people, telling compelling stories, and fostering engagement in a vibrant academic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across the School’s social media channels to highlight programs, events, and achievements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with faculty and staff within the School, and the University’s Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with digital communication best practices and higher education trends.
- Outreach Coordination: Organize, promote, and support School events and initiatives such as Engineers Week and class and school visits.
- Community Engagement: Foster an active online community by responding to messages, comments, and sharing relevant news.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor social media and outreach metrics to assess and report on engagement and impact.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing and communications is preferred.
- Previous experience with social media platforms is preferred (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).
