Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist is part of the team responsible for sharing the story of Trine University across a variety of platforms, including social media and other digital platforms. Communications efforts may be directed to communities including potential or current students, parents of students, alumni, Trine employees or the general public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Specialist will work under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Content and Communications to:

  • Plan, manage and develop creative, attention-getting content for social media accounts
  • Develop, communicate and carry out guidelines for social media to ensure proper brand management and effective implementation
  • Collaborate with other staff to develop and carry out social media campaigns to support the mission, vision and initiatives of the university
  • Monitor conversations on the Internet and interact with the public as needed
  • Monitor trending hashtags and topics and integrate them to enhance the university’s social media presence as appropriate
  • Expand into new social media platforms
  • Track and provide monthly reports on the performance of university social media accounts and content
  • Create social media accounts for other university departments as needed and maintain a record of passwords
  • Enhance the written and visual communication of the university
  • Develop written and visual content for email communication
  • Manage the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts digital sign
  • Produce or direct photos and videos to enhance the university’s communications
  • Work in cooperation with events staff to promote events, camps and concerts
  • Represent the department on committees and work teams that plan and execute important campus events and activities
  • Provide graphic design backup as necessary
  • Coordinate production and placement of external advertising efforts with direction from the vice president and/or assistant vice president
  • Other duties, as assigned as by the Assistant Vice President for Content and Communications and the Vice President for University Marketing & Communications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field
  • Experience in social media account management for a business or organization
  • Experience in photography and/or videography for social media
  • Experience with video-editing and photo management software
