Assistant Figure & Synchronized Skating Coach

Summary:
The Assistant Figure and Synchronized Skating Coach supports the overall growth and advancement of Trine University's Varsity Figure and Synchronized Skating teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a hands-on coach and assist with practice plans and running practices for both figure and synchronized skating. Assist with choreography, skills lessons and off-ice training.
- Assist with providing a seamless Game Day experience by coordinating lodging, travel, meals, and assist with team management at competition.
- Assist with auditions, summer fitness, required pre-season documentation and overall program development. Actively involved with music selection, program concept development, dress designs, off-season training, and identifying goals for the upcoming season.
- Play a key role in on-boarding and retaining skaters by engaging with prospective student-athletes, supporting current Trine skaters, attending off-campus recruiting events and assisting with on-campus preview days and skating camps.
- Be team-oriented and assist with other duties as necessary including game management, team bonding, study tables, and volunteer events.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree, USFS, and PSA Memberships, Liability Insurance, and SafeSport Certification.
- Some experience with skill instruction, practice planning, competition day duties and administrative responsibilities relating to figure and synchronized skating.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
- Desired Qualifications
- Ideal candidate will have direct experience with skill, instruction, planning practices, assisting with competition day duties and administrative responsibilities in relation to figure and/or synchronized skating.
- Ideal candidate will have competitive experience including national / international competitions and/or have coached a skater or team at the national / international level.
