Summary:
The Trine University Sound of Thunder Marching Band seeks a Color Guard Instructor for the Fall 2026 semester. Responsibilities include writing color guard choreography and rehearsing the color guard during marching band rehearsals. The successful applicant will have experience in non-competitive or competitive color guard performances at either the high school or collegiate level. Winter guard experience is preferred, but not required.
This person will coordinate with the Music Director to effectively integrate the color guard into the marching band, developing technique and quality of performances, and expanding the number of participants involved. Other duties include maintaining the color guard’s flag, rifle, and uniform inventory as needed. The ability to provide feedback to twirlers is helpful, but not required. Time requirements include weekly rehearsals, home football games, and band camp, though specific schedule requirements will be determined between the Music Director and the applicant.
