HAC Senior Send Off

ANGOLA, INDIANA, October 13, 2020—Trine University’s Humanities and Communication Department is hosting a Senior Send Off event with Time Capsule Closing Ceremony Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. in Best 229.
In the face of such an odd and trying year, the HAC Department will be hosting their annual Senior Send Off in a different fashion, holding it in Best 229 for proper COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, and incorporating the closing of the Department’s Time Capsule, not to be opened until 2030. The event is being planned and executed by HAC students in coordination with their Event Planning and Promotions course.
During this event, HAC professors will say a few words about each senior and present them with an ornament with their name on it. Seniors will be able to hang their ornament on the HAC Christmas tree. The event will feature a slideshow of each of the seniors, as well as holiday themed music, hot chocolate, and apple cider. After the Send Off portion, the stage will be open for guests to present their Time Capsule Submissions.
“The Senior Send Off and the Time Capsule event are two events that the HAC Department is putting on to commemorate some of the best, or worse, moments that we have had in the past year,” Noah Swift, junior communication major and one of the students helping to organize the event, said, “The Senior Send Off is one of the most important events that HAC does, and it was very nice for the HAC Department to keep that tradition going. The Time Capsule event is a fun way to commemorate this past crazy year, and we are very excited to get that going very soon and are hoping that we get a lot of participation for our Time Capsule.”
The Department is determined to hold this important yearly event to celebrate its talented seniors and is excited to be introducing a new event with the Time Capsule.
“I like that we’re still having it because I’ve helped to plan and “send-off” other seniors over the years and it’s always been fun and exciting, so I’m glad I get to experience it,” Alaina Sallee, senior English and communication major, said.
All HAC students and faculty are invited to the event. Masks are required. The capacity is 51. To RSVP, click the link:
