Book Night
Book Night takes place in T. Furth Center for Performing Arts, during the fall semester. Book Night is a highly anticipated book exchange hosted by the Humanities Institute and the COM 353 Event Planning and Promotion class at Trine. Community members are encouraged to not only pick out there favorite books, but to donate books as well. This event provides free books for Trine students and community members.
Humanities Symposia
The Humanities Symposia is a series of presentations and discussions that cover a wide range of topics related to the humanities. The Symposia provides scholars and artists with a chance to showcase their studies beyond the classroom, covering a variety of topics from comics to history to literature. This series of events are hosted every semester. The symposia are presented in Wells Theatre inside Taylor Hall and are open, and free to Trine students and community members.
Fall and Spring Play
Trine University Theatre presents a production every fall and spring semester. Cast and crew are made up of Trine students, who do everything from perform to promote the play. Students rehearse four nights a week for three months to ensure a stellar performance for the public as well as their fellow students. For any questions please contact professor Lou Ann Homan.
Poe Night
Are you a lover of poetry? Do you like the dark and mysterious? The Humanities and Communication department annually presents Poe Night in October. Poe Night 2023 will take place on October October 26 from 7 pm to 9 pm in Wells Theatre. Edgar Allen Poe's work is presented by community members, faculty, and staff. Currently this event is held at the fire pit located outside the University Center on Trine's campus. Please contact professor Lou Ann Homan for any questions, or to see how you can get involved!
