Throughout high school, I was interested in science. I took as many classes as my high school offered; however, it wasn’t until college that I discovered my love for plants. My love for education took longer to come by. It wasn’t until I was nearly finished with graduate school that I gained an interest in teaching.
When I completed graduate school, I took a teaching position at Carroll High School in Fort Wayne. While there I learned a lot as an educator and found my teaching style. Even though it was very different from the a-”maize”-ing corn research I did in graduate school, it was equally as satisfying.
I was originally from the Northwest Indiana region and am very excited to be back close to family. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends and hosting family dinners.
