I always wanted to be in the medical field since I was a little girl. After college, I attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Following my schooling, I went further east to Buffalo, N.Y., to complete my surgical residency.
Upon completion of residency, I came back home to Indiana and started teaching at a school in Fort Wayne. I started by teaching anatomy and physiology to surgical technology and pre-nursing students. It was during this time I really found a passion for teaching and helping students start their journey into a medical career. Here at Trine, I have become the director of pre-health professions. This gives me an opportunity to work with our students that are looking for careers in the health care industry. I am able to work with them to create a plan to make them the best possible candidate for their chosen career path. I also work with them to obtain various internships and volunteer opportunities.
Outside of school, my life is very similar to the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding;” minus the Greek and add Lebanese. I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy cooking and spending summer weekends at our lake house.
