After graduating from the University of Colorado in chemical engineering I worked for Shell Oil Co. near Houston, Texas refining crude oil. I left Shell to pursue a doctorate at Rice University in chemical engineering. While at Rice, I had the opportunity to do work in the area of bio–medical engineering for NASA′s life science program. After graduating Rice, I came to work at Trine University as an assistant professor in the department of chemical engineering.
On a personal note, I have many hobbies, including woodworking, photography, and brewing beer, and I am just starting to work with glass.
I also enjoy roasting coffee and chocolate. Activities include running and bicycling, as well as camping and cross country skiing. I have two boys, Kent and Jack.
